I've had mics before and when kids use them they seem to break where the cable enters the mic body. The strain relief fails and the cable snaps or the wires break. This microphone has a very durable plug that fits into the microphone body. If it is broken, then the little offspring has found its way into the tool box. The sound quality is okay. It fits our small karaoke machine. The plug is keyed, so there is no way to plug it in the wrong way. No complaints.
