Review on Nelson-Rigg Adventure Motorcycle Tank Bag, designed for optimal fit on Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki Adventure Bikes by Corey Owens

Bought this for my KLR650 and use it daily. The bag easily attaches to my bars and around the stem. Sits in the correct position on the gas tank and does not affect the maneuverability of the steering wheel. When extended it can get in the way on steep or exceptionally difficult terrain, but I quickly got used to it and just rode it. On the trip in the photo, the bag was opened to its maximum capacity. I had appetizers (beef jerky, dried grapes, some granola bars), a 20 ounce bottle of water (my 40 ounce camel back is fine but not recommended for a long trip), glasses in a tempered glass case, one used Notebook, a rhino tire gauge, a small first aid kit, about 25 feet of paracord, a cold steel knife (in a side pocket), insurance info, a pen, a small battery for my phone, my cell phone, maps, and a small flashlight. This particular trip began with 60-75 miles of steady rain. The rain cover fits really well and it was good to see my phone in the top case. There was one instance where a rain cover came off without my noticing on very steep, rocky, technical terrain and was run over by another rider. I found it on the way back and although the clear lid showed some wear it was otherwise undamaged. I ride every day and the backpack is great for carrying my lunch. It folds very compactly, but expands quickly when needed. One note I will make is to ensure the rain cover is fully down around the edges when running at higher speeds as it will inflate and loosen. It has elastics to attach to the attachment straps, but I haven't used them. I pulled it all the way over my bag and tightened the drawstring and that solved the problem. I would highly recommend this bag and am looking to purchase another smaller Nelson rig for my wife's XT250.
