Happy to Use Our New Food Dehydrator! Just made the first batch of dried mangoes and bananas! Since we live in the garden, we use a dehydrator all the time in the summer. We hope the motor lasts as long as our Gardenmaster stackable dehydrator. This has served us well for years, but we have lost many plastic trays because they become brittle and fall apart. ADVANTAGES: The main advantage for us was that everything was stainless steel. I also like the fact that you can set the time duration for it to run. It comes with cute tongs, a very beautiful and colorful cookbook, an extra light bulb and a plastic case. As soon as we submitted our review and product registration, they said they would send us 5 free silicone mats. CONS: There are no leather fruit bowls in the kit, so we had to buy them separately. But the silicone shells we received work great and are easy to clean. Also, it reads Celsius, not Fahrenheit, but we knew that when we bought it, so it's not their fault. Yesterday we brought in our first batch of dried fruit. So far it has been working for over 12 HOURS and all the mangoes we dry are still not ready. But determining the exact settings and timing on a new machine always requires trial and error. And the dried mangoes were lovely!
