This is my first experience with lightening strips so I didn't know what to expect. I was surprised that the top strips fit the front teeth and only reach 2 or 3 teeth on the side and don't reach the back teeth. The end result is the same. They have a gel-like substance on one side of the strip that stays on your teeth for 20 or 30 minutes. The strips are wide and completely cover your teeth with a small additional strip that hangs down. I didn't know what to do with the extra strip so I just stuck it behind my teeth. I don't know if that's correct or not. After I removed the strip my teeth were sticky from the gel substance and it didn't come off easily so I had to brush my teeth to remove the gel. my teeth cannot benefit from whitening strips, then i would rather go to the dentist than just whiten my front teeth. So I won't be using them anymore and can't say if they really work.
