When I hike I use walking sticks but I have to use two one for each Aunt. This makes it very hard for me to control the dog have my walking sticks and walk. Even though my dog walks very nicely when I use the sticks they're constantly pulling on her leash.I decided to try this and it is the best thing I have ever purchased for my dog and hiking. I use it around my waist and this allows me to have a completely hands-free. Now the leash is not constantly correcting her and pulling on her neck and she walks right next to me. I have not tried the over-the-shoulder for walking her and the only reason is because I wear a water bladder backpack when we hike.ISO highly recommend this product for anybody who is doing any kind of exercising with their dog and wants a hands-free experience. Depending on your size waste it may or may not fit around your waist. I am an xxlarge lady so it fits nicely.
