as a hair clip for curling without heat but didn't work for me without heat. Use without heat resulted in creases. NEVER use on damp hair or kinks will remain in your hair until you wash and restyle. These clamps do not replace the double prong clamps used in the curly girl method. I've looked through every video I could find on how to use these clips and they all used the following steps: (1) Start with clean, dry hair. Move the top layer of hair to one side and pick up a section of hair from below. Insert the clamps against the scalp with some looseness. They should not fit snugly against the scalp. Make sure the part of the clip is turned out and the hair is pulled straight out of the head. (2) Gently heat hair with medium-high heat and low airflow. (3) Blow cold air with a hair dryer or wait for the hair to cool naturally. Don't leave the clip on for too long if you let it cool naturally or you might get kinks. (3) Remove clips and finger comb through, slightly curling to eliminate visible creases. Blend the top layer so that any visible creases are hidden underneath. Much luck!
