It works against pathogenic bacteria. burns my tongue

Mint is not my favorite flavor but it is used in 99% of dental products for a 'fresh' taste. As far as I know, mint has no medicinal properties. The mint in this product is too strong. I have to dilute it 1:1 with mouthwash and water but it still causes a very uncomfortable burning/tingling sensation on my tongue.
