Review on ๐Ÿš˜ Traxion 5-100 Tailgate Ladder: Easy Access for Your Vehicle's Rear, Black Finish by David Norwood

Worthy is what it is.

Installed on my 2007 Ram 1500, harder to get out after lifting it. In general I like the design but it needs some work. The included screws seemed flimsy so I didn't even bother with them. I used four stainless steel hex head screws. The lower crossbar is very thin; This is the part that touches the ground. I added bumpers that I could attach to the existing holes in the bottom of the lower assembly - just needed a very long extension. This prevents scratches on the road. The included strap is ok, maybe a little overkill. I just used a rip-tie I had on hand and used an existing bolt on my tailgate. Notes: - All images show the ladder on the driver's side - You can mount it on either side. For me it's safer on the passenger side. - Remember the gap when installing the mounting plate if you have a trunk lid - I had to rebuild mine. The rocker arms should be straight - this gives a little more clearance for the tailgate pull. There are several holes in the mounting plate, but you really don't need more than four. The instructions mention a design improvement. Make pipes tighter - there is still a lot of play.
