These are heavy duty inserts. I don't like those flimsy paper plates that you can't even hold properly. These plates are dinner plate sized and much stronger than other paper plates. They may not look as strong as similar smaller plates, but that's because these plates are larger in diameter. The best part about these plates is that they are made from 100% compostable sugarcane fiber, so they don't end up in landfills or pollute the environment. Using these plates makes me feel less guilty because I'm not doing any harm to an already polluted planet. Properly disposed of, they decompose quickly. I have used these plates for both hot and cold dishes and they are good for both. They do not absorb moisture from food and can be microwaved when needed. While they do well with food that is hot and cold, dry and wet, storing wet food for very long periods of time may not be a good idea. These slabs are white in contrast to other similar slabs. Plates of natural light color. Because of the white color, they can be perfectly used for art projects and other decorative projects. This is a very good set for parties as well as everyday use and saves time washing dishes.
