I'd like to give this one more stars because I think it might work better in a situation where an IT pro can set it up. I bought this because I needed a clean router - no wifi. I have an OnQ metal box that contains cables, telephone and network cables. The cable modem had wifi but was useless in a metal box and not very good quality anyway. So I bought a basic cable modem without WiFi. Unfortunately, it also has no router. I also purchased a three-node Linksys Velop Wi-Fi mesh system. But again, I didn't want to enclose my main wireless node in a metal box. So I decided to disable the Velops router feature and use a "real" router. I have gigabit service through my ISP and this router has never given me more than 100Mbps. With a stretch, even plugging the cable into the switch indicated that the connection itself was 100MB. After a full reboot of all my components, the switch connection was back to normal. But I still didn't get more than 150Mbps on any device, even if that device was the only device connected to the router other than the cable modem. When I re-enabled the Velops router, speeds hit 600Mbps on almost all of my devices. WiFi averages around 250, but that's fantastic considering I have 10-12 devices connected to the switches at the same time (I have more than one switch). My computers hit 300+ all the time, and quite often the expected 600. The TP-Link router box says 'Business' so there must be a way for it to work in a business environment other than a home scenario. However, 1Gb/s throughput is explicitly advertised for both WAN and LAN, and that promise doesn't seem to be delivered.
