This is our first projector so I have no comparison experience, if that's what you mean It was a lot of fun for our family. We have used it both indoors and outdoors. Inside it worked great on a white wall. I used it for a few meetings in my home office, which isn't particularly big, and it was very clear and rich. But mostly we used it to watch movies and it was a blast. It is very easy to move and plug in anywhere. We put it in a large room and project it back onto the wall. 12 feet seemed like the perfect color to size ratio to us. Outside we used the wall of our house but we have vertical wood accents which distorts the image a bit but we liked it so much we are looking for a screen that will work outdoors. We had an awning over the patio so there was no direct light. The weather hasn't settled for summer yet, but when it does our normally weekly family BBQ will turn into a BBQ and a movie. Eco mode seems to work best at night, with much less heat and fan noise (although it's not very loud initially). We had a great guide with us. Usually an online guide is fine, but with no experience of this sort of thing it was great to have a good guide to refer to. The controls are very easy to access and clearly labeled, as are all of the plugins. Fan noise, well again, I don't have anything to compare, but I found it relatively quiet, and it should be effective as the unit didn't have any heating issues. I admit it was a daunting adventure for us, but it's really doable for the average person. , and is affordable for the average family at the current price.
