I've played various CDs/DVDs with it and it works great. I didn't burn anything with it, so I can't talk about it. I may update this rating if I burn or copy something. I had another, another mfg. It worked great until I took it somewhere without securing it in a box. After moving it without the box I couldn't get it to work. So it turns out that it's important to be careful when handling these portable players.
