I only had to make 6 holes for the recessed lights. I didn't want to buy a $40 beat. This item served its purpose well enough, but if I wanted to do more of this type of work I would have invested in a more perfect part. The biggest problem is that the hole saw doesn't stay bolted to the shank. There's no lock nut or mechanism to hold it in place, so it loosens and twists until it cuts into what's being drilled. Once it bites in, it does a great job cutting a clean hole.
