This cat toy/"tooth cleaner" was a failure for my cats - they have ZERO interest in it. From the pictures, I thought it may be jointed - but it is a solid piece of soft rubber like material. It should be priced at a dollar or two - so it is well over-priced. The promised cat nip was not attractive to my cats and from what I can tell, you will need long tweezer to remove the cat nip bag from the toy. It came with a broken bell (no noise) that is a choking hazard. The bell is just loose in the box - am I supposed to shove it in the toy? What is to prevent it from falling out and choking my cats? Skip this one and try another toy/tooth brush for your cats.
