Review on 🚙 Smittybilt 2843 Pivot HD Oversize Tire Carrier | 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK, Black by Larry Sabey

We were a little concerned about the 35" tire and wheel configuration on the standard liftgate carrier. Too much weight and too many bumps. After what felt like an eternity of searching for reviews and videos on YouTube, I settled on the Smittybilt holder. How glad I am that I did. This thing is just a BEAST! The hinges feel very nice and don't dangle at all. The overall build quality and tolerances were excellent and it allowed me to set the tire as far back and as low/high as I wanted. I absolutely love it. While fairly complete, the pictures are horrible and some parts just aren't mentioned. There are some really good YouTube videos of the complete installation. Replacing the 3rd brake light can be very simple or require some modification depending on how high or low you set the light. I mounted mine just above the top of the tire and had to cut some of the stock plastic to mount the light mount. No big deal.4. Like many before me, I noticed that there was bare primer/metal and some rust behind my stock hinges. I'll have to take care of that in the spring. LOVE THIS TIRE CARRIER!
