I have purchased many paper shredders over the years including even what has been touted as the best in the office supply store. In any case, the shredder stopped working within a few months. I decided that I would never buy a paper shredder sold at an office supply store. I decided that I would only buy the commercial variety. That's what made me buy the Swingline DX18-13. I've had about a month and it works very well. I was a bit disappointed to learn that I could not use the grinder until I filled it with the specialty oil they sell, otherwise my warranty would be voided. From what I remember, oil was expensive, about $15 a pint. Further research showed that I didn't need to buy their brand of oil and was able to buy the oil locally at a reasonable price.
