Very soft and warm.
Bought this to wear when I walked 1.5 miles to work in Minnesota. I wear it on my chin when it's 20 degrees Fahrenheit and pull it over my nose when it gets below 10 degrees Fahrenheit. It's very soft and warm. I've switched my cold-weather clothing, specifically the base layer and socks, to merino wool. It doesn't smell and feels much warmer on my skin than cotton or synthetic.
