After using MANY different brake lubes with little satisfaction on both NOISE and COMPONENT SEALING. Driving conditions I'm throwing my old greases in the trash and will be using Sil-Glyde from now on. The reason I throw away old greases is because I don't want to be held responsible for giving a poor quality product to a friend knowing I should have recommended this Sil-Glyde to them. An 8 ounce tube will last the average homeowner for a lifetime! HEALTHY TIP: I also buy this in very handy smaller .7oz tubes. This size will do +/- 8 to 10 or more braking jobs AND thousands of different greasing jobs by a do-it-yourselfer in the workshop or at home. This size is also perfect for any toolbox as it doesn't take up as much space as a giant 8oz. tubes, and there is MORE than enough to do many, many things. Use a small brush to apply. Metal-to-metal contact points and caliper pins with Scotch Bright pad, steel wool, Roloc repair disc or regular dry green kitchen brush BEFORE installing new pads/Syl-Glyde. It's great for keeping rubber items "like new". "! When a tire is worn out, I also like to rub a small amount of Syl-Glyde into any available "rubber parts" on tie rod ends, aging tie rod boots, brake lines, etc. to REPAIR and help hold it up Supple and supple. Don't just drag it onto the surface. Rub it into the rubber with some elbow grease so it fully penetrates the surface and not just applied over it. You'll get better results. Have fun!
