Perfect Fit - Engines and Engine Parts

Received quickly, looks exactly like the original part. Perfect fit, installation time including cleaning 1 hour. As stated by other reviewers for this and other similar parts. It's not easy to just shove it in there. But with some lube it is possible. Step 1: Remove the black pin that threads through the hub. I don't know what it's called, but it's 4 screws. 2 on each side to the right of the strut mount in the engine compartment. I'm sure they are metric but 15/16 will fit. Unscrew it from the socket. Takes 1/2 inch. Remove and get out of the way. Step 2. Cut the metal ring off the old bushing, being careful not to damage the outer ring it sits in. I used a saw, but a hacksaw will do. After you cut it, you can bend it with a punch and knock it out on the back (passenger side). Step 3. THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP. Thoroughly clean the inside of the bushing bracket to remove any residual rubber or paint. Sand the inside with sandpaper, sandpaper or I used a dremel. Do the same on the outside of the new bushing. It's painted, so you'll need to remove that paint, and the more time you spend getting this step perfect, the easier it will be to put a new one on. Clean again after sanding. Step 4. The most interesting. Insert your black mount, but don't fasten it. Bring the bushing to it and make a mark where to line it up so the hole lines up with the screw. I put some grease on the inside of the bracket to help the hub slide. I first tried the 2-c clamp method as shown in the YouTube video but got frustrated and ended up using a 2-claw puller and metal. Bid. Something flat will do, but something with a hole to keep your middle in line will be a big help (I used a flat bar at first but my canter kept slipping). Slowly tighten the puller, stopping about every turn and tapping the bushing with a hammer. Continue like this until your new piece is complete. Assemble and done. Will be upgraded to 5 stars if it lasts longer than a year.
