Hardware . Service. Compatibility

I used to have a very high opinion of USR's products and services. a DELL XPS, this unit installs like a dream. But that's where the dream ends. nightmare, strange things to follow. The router that is directly compatible with this device is located in another room and has NEVER been used as a wireless transmission device. USR's support is mostly surreal. I explained the issues very clearly and nothing I wrote was ever answered. they HAVE answered, only the answers were to questions elsewhere (who knows what they did). I didn't have access to my router's built-in configuration, and yet they never respond. A router only works when I don't have internet access, then I can stare at all of its wonderful screens and think what the heck to do, even though I've looked through all the manuals and documents and done everything they say. ; When the device is connected to the Internet, wireless functionality is disabled and only one port works. A common kick is that the wifi card in the XPS has an excellent connection to the shop next door that sells coffee etc and offers free wifi. . After visiting the store, without any particular reason to ask for access, we were kindly granted access to the network, as not that many people use the WI-FI service yet. After running the Linksys router, I found that the Robotics card is backward compatible with the class ab wireless router. I gave one star because of the bad service but this card with its amp is great. It took 15-20 emails to get RMA details and instructions on how to use them. We wish we could return a usable router. JUNE 30: To get this excellent card to communicate with your USR router in Turkey, buy the ROBOTICS 4DBI 3COM Corp US ROBOTICS 4DBI DESKTOP WIRELESS ANTENNA ( USR5480 ). Without this antenna in a house or apartment larger than 800 square feet, the router is useless. Having said that, I have to say that Linksys has excellent customer service, not just 9 to 5. I can't call as I work. them for help, which seems to be the only way to solve some router and wireless card problems. Much more inclined to stick with Linksys for next purchase.

Pros
  • Improved 802.11g/b compatibility
Cons
  • Sad packaging
