My last glass was a disappointment

I used YES! Pasta has been around for years, although I've never ordered it from Revain. The jar I just received from Revain isn't exactly what I would think of as regular noodles. It is MUCH softer than usual. I'm sure the previous jars had a cardboard seal under the lid when I bought them, but this jar didn't have that. There was runny paste on the lid and on the threads of the lid and jar (which was difficult to clean but I was concerned the lid would end up sticking to the jar). There is a gap between the paste and the inner wall of the glass. I've never seen this before. This jar of paste is so watery that too much was transferred from the brush to the paper, but I couldn't brush off the excess. When I applied paper to glue it literally flew out of position. I've only had similar issues when trying to "dilute" my pasta with warm water as described on the jar. This leads me to believe that the pasta tin I received was from a batch that contained too much water. Yes! Pasta is too expensive to buy a glass of water. Yes!
