Review on πŸŽ„ Christmas Countdown: DIMENSIONS Needlecrafts Advent Stocking Garland Felt Applique Kit, 72-08280 by Michelle Langley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not enough materials!

Bought to make a stocking for my grandson. At the same time I received another set of Dimensions (Stack of Critters) stockings from my Revain wish list. The Stack of Creatures was missing the whole white thread. I emailed Dimensions in June and was told it was back on order. In November they said it wasn't ordered yet but they would send me DMC floss "as a courtesy". It's February and I still don't have it (polar bears are the main feature here too). I went ahead and made Snow Friends. I'm an experienced cross stitcher and have made over 20 stockings so I was dismayed that I fell two colors short as I was nearing the end of this project. I called Dimensions over 2 weeks ago and said: that they can forget the white color of the previous ones as it is easier to combine, but I needed a pale and light gray. They said the whites were on their way and the grays would arrive in a week or 10 days. NOTHING. So I'm sitting in front of an unfinished project that many said was difficult. The shades of gray that DMC sells don't even come close and I'd have to rip everything out to start over. This is very annoying. UPDATE: After a few months I finally got the missing thread. I finished the project by Christmas. This is an easy project until you get to the polar bears and shading will be tricky - all the threads are very similar in color. It turned out REALLY beautiful and I'm happy with the end result - I just wish I had all the materials to start with.
