The only problem with this coat is the two-way zipper at the back, which allows access to a hook on a leash worn separately under the coat. The zip has two tabs - one at each end - so you can pull it up to where you attached the leash to the harness. One of those straps came loose and I can't put it back on. The result is a gaping hole in my dog's back, which becomes a problem when it snows. I am considering ordering a new one and returning this once I have the new one. That issue aside, I love this coat. Curiously, the dog's entire upper chest is exposed, but the coat's Velcro fastens where his chest meets the dimples. The jacket is very well made, one side for rain, the other for warmth. It's not super thick, but with my Goldendoodle it will be warm enough for the winter. The Velcro fastener on both sides is very durable. The design allows you to place the coat on your dog's back and then place the center piece between the front paws to fasten with the velcro on either side. Then attach two Velcro straps to the bottom of the chest. Measure your pup carefully to ensure you get the correct size. My Daisy is 46lbs but wears a size 2XL!
