I hate curtains and normal blinds. I love this shade. I bought this in white for privacy, not so much to block out light - you need darker colors for that - and I'm definitely buying more. When I got the instructions I almost had a panic attack because it only listed 2 steps for indoor mounting (four for wall/outdoor mounting - still not bad). I went to YouTube to look for instructions because it is SURE it will take more than 2 steps. It took 2 steps for this brand. Drill two brackets at the top of the window (inside mount) - one screw each - and they will hold the blinds in place. I'm a homemade jerk which is why I'm so happy with how easy it was. This view is ideal for indoor installation, the entire shade including the side panels is part of the width. My window is inset/mated, full width is 47 inches (actual window width is about 45.5). I ordered 47 inch and it fits like a glove.
