Where I live, the water is so rich in minerals that the surfaces look dull, which made me think of mineral deposits. I was a bit apprehensive about using it initially, I didn't want to scratch the toilets, but I'm glad I did. I used a pumice stone with some CLR in the water, no scratches and the toilets are shiny and new looking again.
