Review on πŸͺ’ WLDOHO Double Edge Safety Razor - Eco-Friendly Resin Handle, Sustainable and Plastic-Free - Reusable Safety Razor for Men & Women - Classic Shaver with 5 Blades by Kristin Bennett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very strong and nice heavy piece.

I have a receding hairline and I'm not going bald yet, but my hair is so short that I use more toothpaste to brush my teeth than shampoo to wash my hair, so I've decided to join the Bald Head Club a little. I wanted to ditch my Gillette to save on blades and plastic waste, and there's something about shaving with those old razors that I find "relaxing". So I did a lot of research to find a quality DE razor and finally ended up with this German masterpiece. It's very strong and has a nice weight, it's very sharp, although the blades that come with it are said to be medium aggressive. I'm new to DE shaving and used to Gillette cartridges so the needles say it needs to learn, especially if like me you're a little impatient with shaving and kind of rushed with the blades. What you can't do about it, I managed to get cuts and cuts on the sides and back of the head and they don't look like those tiny cuts you would get from a patron, they are fountains. It's not as easy as it seems, but I'm moving towards the goal and improving my technique every time. I understand that some people may find this razor too heavy and difficult to hold, but I think once you find a way to shave and let the weight of the razor do the work and listen to the razor, you hardly have to hold the razor at all, and just guide it where you need it, slowly, without pressure. I can't compare it to other shavers as this is my first shaver but I can say this is a reliably good shaver and not a cheaper version. I have a bit of trouble shaving but it's not the razor's fault, it does what it's supposed to do. So if you are new to a DE razor, don't expect it to be the same as a cartridge razor. It takes longer to shave, but the close shave you get with it is hard to beat when done right. Make sure you use a good shaving cream/foam to avoid irritation, never dry shave with these DE razors. I may need to look into a "safety razor" which is a DE razor with an added layer of protection if I can't figure out this shaving technique.
