Review on Enhanced Home Connectivity: Linksys Tri-Band WiFi Router (Max-Stream AC2200 MU-MIMO Fast Wireless Router), black by Steve Hauck

In a pile of junk in my garage before using it for 6 months

Honestly Linksys I chose not to bother with their tech support and threw this router away after many problems. I bought it on sale on Black Friday 2018. I installed it in December because my 4 year old refurbished ASUS was becoming unreliable. This router seems good at first glance, and I have to say that the management interface is light years ahead of anything I've seen. However, what we really want is a powerful router, and I didn't get that. From the start I encountered range issues and had to use an extension cord, to connect to some of my devices. I have a 2000 square foot one story house, I didn't think I would need it. Later on, I occasionally had power outages on various devices, especially after a power outage. I often had to reprogram devices even though there was a problem with the device. After a recent power outage, I've had devices that just wouldn't connect, even after reprogramming. I have a large home network with just over 60 devices (10 LAN, 10 5G, the rest on 2.4G). Eventually I got tired of the problems and bought a Netgear ax8 which claims to be the best router for large home networks. After my first power outage everything worked and I didn't have to reprogram anything, all my random connection problems have been fixed and i no longer need a range extender. Yes, I had to spend about double what this router does (three times considering my Black Friday deal), but to save myself the headache I ditched Linksys for a while. My router is still under warranty and I might sell it or give it away
