My son wore it in light rain and his upper body stayed dry. The fabric is also soft and stretchy so he can run, jump and climb without restrictions. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is because the size is a bit small. My son usually wears an X-Small size but this seemed a bit tight. This is to be considered when purchasing.
