We love these chairs. very comfortable and the fact that the back and hind legs are in one piece. The included instructions are weak at best. Here's an easier way: 1) Place the seat on the table, cushion down, with the front legrest on the edge of the table. Install the front feet, but only hand tighten the screws. (I put some packing material under the pillow.) 2) The side of the pillow is still down, rotate the seat 180 degrees. Allow the back edge of the pillow to hang 1 inch over the edge of the table. Assemble the rear legs and hand tighten all screws. 3) With the chair on the table (inverted, legs up and back hanging down), place a ruler (12 inch painter's stick or ruler) diagonally. Cushion wood framing to ensure back edges are flush. Slowly tighten the two center screws, checking periodically that the trailing edges remain level. Tighten the 4 corner screws, check the edges, then fully tighten all 6 screws on the back. 4) Turn the chair over and place it on a flat, hard floor. Swing your front legs and press down on the cushion so that all feet touch the floor evenly. While holding this pressure (with a weight or someone pushing down) tighten the 4 bolts 50%. Relieve the pressure and make sure all 4 feet are touching the floor. In this case, tighten all screws firmly. If not, loosen the screws, move the front legs again, then press again and tighten the screws. Ready!
