Both of my kids have been asking for "mini backpacks" for a while, so I jumped at the chance to try them. This one was wrapped in a pile of junk, including clear plastic shrink wrap over a layer of styrofoam. We had to cut very carefully to detach the backpack, otherwise we risk damaging the backpack itself. After our departure we were satisfied with the quality. No weird chemical polyurethane smells, and the brass sliders to adjust the straps were super easy to move and find the right fit. Fully compressed, the backpack sits neatly on my 8 year old daughter's back. The backpack looks more ornate than the retail price and has enough room for enough baby jewelry which she likes to carry around with some of her OMG Lol dolls and other cheap plastic toys. The faux snake skin print also looks very cool. My daughter asked me if it was real snake skin! Either way, it's a hit. Recommended maybe for a kid or teen who wants to look fashionable without spending a lot of money.
