I usually wear a medium shirt or jacket but I bought a large and I'm glad I did. It's an almost perfect fit. The sleeves are long, but that length dissipates when you squeeze the throttle or clutch. After removing the winter lining, I used this jacket on a summer day that hit 80F. The zips on the sleeves exposed the mesh lining, which kept me cool enough even at low speeds. In hot weather, the jacket becomes too warm. The filling is CE certified. I didn't check the back (high density foam) but pulled out the shoulder pads to check the certification type: it's EN1621-1. This is the limb standard. The pads have a nice feel as the mesh fabric covers a hard plastic frame. The jacket's weight may put some people off, but the thicker the material, the better chance you have of avoiding a rash. It also looks pretty sharp - the reflective strips don't ruin the look, IMHO. I prefer the stand-up collar (British type) so I really like his style. Overall I was really impressed with this jacket, especially given the great price - highly recommend!
