requires 1/2 compression, otherwise works fine. Note that the length of the threaded part can be an issue, so check the thickness of the meter. We have 1.25" thick granite and it was difficult to install as it is only 1/2" shorter. I ended up cutting off the corner of the plastic nut, flipping it over, removing the 3/8 thick base, and that was enough to securely attach the 1/2 lead. You really need to provide an extension or just make the threads 1/2" longer.
