Great keyboard!

EDIT: Update, just over 1 year old and I'm still very happy with my purchase. The only issue I had was literally the little rubber bumpers that keep the iPad from rubbing against the keyboard falling out. So I contacted Brydge, explained what had happened, they contacted straight away and asked for my postal address to send a replacement. You couldn't ask for better customer service! Thanks Brydge, I still highly recommend this keyboard! I did quite a bit of research before deciding to buy this keyboard and I think it was time well spent. Every keyboard I've looked at has its weaknesses including the Brydge but considering my wants and needs I thought the Brydge would suit me best and it has been confirmed so far! CONS Let's find out. There are a few things I would like to change, but they aren't enough complaints to remove from my rating. 1) As mentioned in other reviews, this keyboard is a bit heavy. Knowing this from other reviews, I have decided not to lower my rating. It's just a fact that everyone should know before making a purchase. But also remember that the weight is perfect for sitting on your lap and typing without the iPad tipping over the keyboard. 2) Color matching for my iPad is disabled. I contacted the people at Brydge and asked why they didn't fit (my iPad is gold, I ordered gold but what I got looks more like rose gold). They explained that Apple often changes its colors from year to year, trying to adapt to the latest ones. That makes sense to me, and since my iPad launched a few years ago, I've seen where it can be difficult to always find an exact match, so again, I prefer not to lower my rating. PROS There's a lot of amazing stuff in it. this keyboard, so I'll try to name the most important ones for me. 1) The keyboard battery life is great! I've had it for a few weeks now and I haven't charged it yet, it's great for me! 2) There is virtually no lag when typing! I'm not the fastest typist, but I'm not very slow either, which helps me a lot to keep up. 3) The pressing of a button or the pressing of a button or whatever you want to call it, I like it. Good travel volume. I've seen some reviews saying they were hard, sometimes some buttons needed to be pressed harder, I didn't have that problem. All have been very consistent. 4) I love the backlit keyboard! I don't use it often but sometimes I print in low light and I can turn on the backlight with 3 different brightness settings and it all adds up to a great feature. And when I stop typing for a very long time, the backlight automatically turns off, and when I start typing again, it turns back on. Excellent! 5) Easy pairing with my iPad was great, I had no issues. I will say from time to time that one of the shortcut keys above is not working and I just turn the keyboard off then back on and that solves the problem. 6) While I haven't really had enough time to talk about durability, the keyboard seems to be so well made that I think with a little care on my part it will last a long time. 7) I like the way parentheses work! I put my iPad in the clips, center it and you're done. Then when I just want to use the iPad, I just slide it out of the clips. Love the simplicity of it! And the way the hinges of the clamps are very inventive! (For those wondering when my iPad is plugged in and I close it. a) It automatically puts the iPad to sleep and wakes it up when I open it. b) The iPad screen does not touch the buttons or any part of the case. There are small rubber bumpers on the case that touches the frame of the iPad.) I think that covers the main point, so let's wrap it up. I highly recommend this keyboard! It should be noted that this keyboard does not serve as a case for your tablet. It's not designed for that purpose, so don't think it fills that need. If you want a keyboard that doubles as protection, you really should look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a keyboard that gives you the feel of a small laptop, has top-notch features, and is designed for comfortable typing, then this is the keyboard for you!
