Our fridge stays cold and after one night opening the lid the next morning the side latch broke. What a pity. I haven't been "cited" since I just bought it. Although only the tip of the latch has broken off, it doesn't interfere with the rest of the container. Just having one set (of two) wasn't enough and I figured it was worth buying another one. Furnished. All because we go through a lot of eggs. I get five dozen eggs from Costco every two weeks, they come in a box, not egg cartons. So having at least three of them is great for storage and now I have a spare in case one of them breaks down. Plastic is light, brittle and transparent. I wouldn't recommend putting anything heavy on it, like a gallon of milk. (You can stack another one of these egg trays on top of each other.) You can get away with half a gallon of milk though (this way), but that requires it to be off-center because the plastic is concave in the center, and I have the potential to break an egg or two. While I'm not a Pelikan egg baker case for my eggs, I do expect it to be easy to open and close and the durable material to protect my eggs during storage.
