Didn't stick to steel door, had to send back
I have a steel door so I was willing to pay extra to get a magnetic strike plate so I don't have to damage the door. The magnetic backing was very cheap and flimsy - note the bubbles on the magnetic backing in the photo, that's how it came about. When I tried to attach it to my steel door, the magnet was so weak it couldn't hold. I have used other magnets on this door before (wreath holders etc) and never had a problem. $58, unacceptable quality. Other reviews of the magnetic mount have had five stars, so it's possible it's just the brushed nickel-aluminum platter that's at fault.
