It seems that many reviews here put the thing in old sockets that do not support 1.5 kW. Too bad these reviews lower the overall rating of a product I've had great success with for over 3 years. This is where people really need to use their critical thinking skills: this device heats up an entire room; Emits 1.5 kW of heat; It draws >10A from a standard US outlet. You must have sockets that are at least somewhat new and not very cheap to support this type of power. It's really a shame that people berate this product for their crappy home wiring. It's very frustrating that misinformation is spreading from people who have no idea how electricity works.
