Similar to the knife I used when I worked at Domino's Pizza. Fits perfectly in my palm. The intuitive shape offers maximum downforce to completely cut through hard crusts. I suspect the ergonomics of this slicer are designed to keep your fingers on the plastic and away from the sharp spinning wheel. When I was looking for this plane, I was surprised to see very expensive planes with straight handles and tiny guards between the user's hand and the blade. In this case, the cheaper the better!
