Hi all, this was a birthday present that I picked out for myself from my family. It is so much better than the stock radio from my JK Unlimited Sahara 2007. I don't have steering wheel controls but that's OK. The head unit is nice looking seems to be an "open source" piece of hardware that many companies use and program themselves. Just a guess. That said, it's very nice looking and when installing in a JK of my year, fits nicely and looks OEM, making my Jeep look more late-model than it is. The soft click knobs and buttons are very responsive and not cheap. With these radios, it seems that some companies are better at graphical interface designs better than others. Also, their software engineers might have different experience levels than other companies selling this physical unit. The biggest difference that matters to many is Customer Service. AWESAFE is VERY GOOD at customer service. They responded to a question right away and scrolling through the questions you can see that I'm not the only one satisfied with the answer.I wanted a touch screen radio. The touch screen is very good. A light touch is all that's needed and recommended on any touch screen. The screen is very responsive to scrolling gestures like I'm used.I do wish it was a bit faster but it's actually is not bad. I guess I'm used to my iPhone12. I use CarWebGuru for my launcher. It is an amazing front-end graphic interface to this unit that I highly recommend you download from the GooglePlay store when you install this radio. It's very widget and color customizable and the graphics look OEM.This unit, as they all do, supports a backup camera. I haven't gotten the backup camera yet. I wish they would have bundled it together with the unit. I think this radio is so good they could sell more if they bundled it with a backup camera. One install and it's all done including the camera. So now, when I reverse my Jeep, the screen goes to black with the backup guidelines overlay. What IS nice is that the audio volume lowers, but not completely during reverse. NICE! That is such a good safety feature so you are able to hear what's going on outside the car and you don't need to lower the volume yourself. SO SMART. I would love to get a backup camera but I don't know which one to get. Maybe I'll ask the company who makes this radio if they have a good suggestion.I bought the Carplay IOS dongle. I have flawless interconnectivity with my iPhone 12. Really great to have Siri as an assistant as I drive. One thing I found was that I didn't need the extra microphone. The mic on the upper right face of this AWESAFE unit is sensitive enough. Siri is able to take perfect dictation. The extra mic can be attached to the back of the unit during installation and routed to the A-pillar if needed. Also, the supplied GPS antenna sits perfectly on the Jeep ALT. GPS mount just above the radio inside the center console. Just stick it on with the supplied double-sided tape right next to your Jeep OEM GPS unit on the other bracket.If there was a wish I would have, it would be the ability to transmit audio over Bluetooth to my wireless headphones so I can listen to the DVD player in my headphones while on the highway. My Jeep is a ragtop and is noisy so wearing noise-canceling headphones helps eliminate any road noise, but, I cannot hear the DVD player.Speaking of the DVD player, it's very nice. A great feature is that you can listen to the DVD player but not actually have it up on the screen. You can scroll through app screens and menus or just have it parked on the home screen of CarWebGuru and its driving info. LOVE that! I like to listen to movies and don't want to be distracted by visuals so this is perfect.Bluetooth works flawlessly with my iPhone 12. WiFi works flawlessly as well when using my phone as a hotspot or when I'm in range of my home WiFi. It auto connects to my phone or house after the first connection setup. It's a no-brainer. I have found that the experience of having a mini-computer in my center console is really fun. Coming from never using the "box with knobs" in my center console to now having it be an infotainment center has made my driving experience so much better and more fun. I recommend this AWESAFE unit based on my review comments.
