If you look at my photo, the waffle is very different from the manufacturer's images. The edges of the waffle are much lighter than the center, and there are also inner pockets that are lighter than normal. You can still bake the whole waffle (the center will be nice and crispy, the edges will be light, but done), but it won't be as visually appealing as you'd like, with nice crispy edges. I would give five stars for this serious shortcoming. No more than two indicators are required to tell you when it's heating up and when it's done. And I've had absolutely no problems with sticking, although I don't spray or oil the surface before cooking. (I use a medium-fat batter, 2/3 of a packet of butter for about 6 waffles.)
