Ports almost too small

The device delivers what it promises for HDMI and USB 3.0, but the ports barely fit (both HDMI and USB). I've even tried a few plugs and kept running into problems, so it's an adapter. I have to push the connectors in so hard that one of my USB 3.0 connectors was slightly damaged. It's great that they don't get lost from the adapter, but it's so difficult that using this adapter for different things is unrealistic.
