Used this pack (105 L version) on a backpacking trip on the Cabin Loop Trail, Coconino National Forest, Arizona.Pros:-huge main compartment, sufficient for very long trips in the backcountry-numerous large external pockets, very nice feature-mesh pockets on the sides easily accommodate 4 Nalgene bottles….I was able to carry 5 L of water-lots of external attachment points to strap, clip or tie on extra gear-seems durableCons:-for as much weight as you can pack into this bag, the hip and shoulder straps are very undersized. The shoulder straps dug into my chest and traps the entire time. The padding on the shoulder straps was way too short. These straps need to be doubled in length, width and padding. The hip pad barely reached my sides-not great for large/tall hikers….the undersized straps issue again. Hip belt rode too high to distribute the weight to my hips. And the hip pad barely reached my sides. I’m 6’4”, 275 lbs.Bottom line: the 105 L Coyote is a good, not great, pack. Not ideal for really heavy loads or larger hikers due to undersized shoulder hand hip straps with too little padding.
