comparison of budget mice. Bought two wired mice. These are the Belkin F5M010qBLK model and the Kensington K72110US model. I paid $8 for the Belkin and $6.30 for the Kensington (used). Having used both mice for several days, I clearly prefer the Belkin. I think Belkin has a more attractive design with clear divisions between the left button. , right button and scroll wheel. It also has a greater variety of surface textures. I think Belkin is doing better. I hold the mouse with the thumb and ring finger of my right hand. On the Belkin, the surface I hold the mouse on is curved (but almost vertical) textured plastic. On the Kensington, the surface is glossy plastic and not as vertical, and when I put my hand on the Kensington, I touch the seam between the top and bottom. Belkin is more comfortable for my grip style. Belkin looks more solid. It weighs about 10 grams more than the Kensington K72110US and has a longer cable. When it comes to clicks, no mouse is silent. They have slightly different tones. Belkin has a higher tick tone and Kensington has a lower tone. Kensington is a little quieter. There is no button on the Kensington and the body is split; Belkin has a separate button. Belkin needs more pressure to click. The Kensington doesn't need much pressure, but sometimes the Kensington makes a "like" sound even though the computer doesn't register the click. I think the Belkin scroll wheel looks better, but the Kensington scroll wheel feels and sounds better. Like the Klick, the Kensington has a lower pitch and is quieter than the Belkin. Can't comment on durability but for now due to feel, look and limited use I prefer the Belkin and would buy again. 5 stars based on first impression and a price of $8.
