Mood Candle

Sony has done a great job making this speaker more than just a dimmable wireless LED speaker. The glass tube plays an important role in the speaker's sound, combining form and function. The light on this speaker creates a candle atmosphere. Using the magic of physics, the glass tube makes the LED look like a flame with a wide base and a narrow tip, but you have to look at it from the right angle: if your gaze is too low, you won't see the flame. Generally, if your eye is too high, the "flame" will fill the tube and look more like a jet. Even with this trick with glass it still doesn't look like a flame, the style is clearly his own. At maximum brightness, the light is still quite subdued and only provides basic illumination. Glass isn't really glass, but it's just as fragile as glass - the included instructions say you can only handle the speaker by the base. It is best to keep the packaging material with you in case you need to send it for a move or for a return/RMA. This speaker is portable in the sense that it can be moved and used anywhere in the house with minimal setup. until the battery is empty. That's good if you want to use it in the middle of a dining table, for example, but don't want to run the power cord. If you intend to use it in another household, you must carefully pack it in the original packaging before shipping. It's not roadworthy at all. I found the sound quality to be good when playing relaxing jazz, but there are limits to the sound produced from a single small speaker. If you want multi-channel audio, you'll need a second speaker and the Sony app. Low frequencies aren't this speaker's forte, but it still resists and generates some vibrations. The glass tube amplifies the sound and spreads it evenly in all directions, making it sound better than if you had a regular upward-firing speaker. The advantage of this "360Β° audio" is that everyone can hear the same volume of music in every meeting, as opposed to a regular speaker where people behind the speaker don't hear as much sound as people in front. You will get the best quality by connecting a 3.5mm audio cable or using Wi-Fi audio. To use Wi-Fi you need the Sony Music Center app. You need to use an app to connect the speaker to Wi-Fi, the app is much easier to use than the buttons on the speaker. The downside of the app is that as of December 20, 2020, it only offers Wi-Fi streaming from Google Play Music (discontinued) and Spotify. You can add another app (e.g. YouTube Music) in the settings, but when you start playing the added app, it will automatically switch to Bluetooth. The battery life is sufficient for the duration of most events where you can use a candle. Dinner or party but it's pretty overwhelming. The battery is rated for 8 hours, but seems to drain a little quicker when the lights are on and music is playing. So if you want longer playback time, you need to keep it charged. Does it charge via micro USB? Micro USB is not totally unheard of, but it will be gone soon. Most new electronic devices use USB-C because it's more durable, more symmetrical, and easier to connect. For example, for one-time use, you can place it in the middle. Step out of the room and get on with your day knowing you're listening to the same amount of music no matter where you stand or sit. In summary, this speaker is clearly not the best value for money in terms of sound quality and has some limitations in functionality. This speaker is a stylish decorative piece that offers light and candle-like sound to everyone around it. If you like it, then this speaker is for you.
