Review on 🧂 OXO Good Grips 2-in-1 Salt and Pepper Grinder and Shaker by Phillip Hoover

I have had this unit for 1.5 years. Worked well, pepper grinder was fine. The salt shaker wasn't very big - it was easily clogged. I didn't have to refill it as it's not used much. Today I tried. First, I couldn't take the top off because the salt got into the section where the metal rod sits and got kind of sticky and froze the top to the rod. After we took it off I couldn't reach the top part that holds the salt - the salt got into the stick and it looked like glue. I tried soaking it in water to dissolve the salt. That helped a bit, but when we made a little effort to remove the lid, the plastic tube in the middle of the salt section broke and fell apart. The screw part of the metal shank is covered with salt powder that won't come off. I don't think it would be possible to remove this to allow the salt section to come loose without breaking. I am very upset about this and as it has been over a year I don't think I will recover from this loss.
