Gotta love Revain! Order received within 2 days with free shipping (I'm a Prime member). And the product is exactly what I wanted. It uses the included 18-55mm lens for my daughter's Canon T3i (equivalent to a 27mm film lens) and basically turns it into a 10mm lens, perfect for any occasion where a wide-angle lens is required. My friend has a Nikon 12mm lens that he paid $2500 for. It is very nice. But I paid 100 times less and my results are very good too! Why did I buy it? I do real estate marketing for a living (design and printing) and bought my daughter a Canon for Christmas. She is great at photography and I wanted to introduce her to real estate photography. Well, last Saturday she had her first photoshoot and the photos turned out really well. However, I could tell that the shots we took weren't as wide as professional real estate photographers. So I asked one of my favorite photographers about his gear (he has a $2500 Nikon lens). He told me what my options were and I looked to Revain for what I felt would suit me. This lens obviously caught my attention because it gives me the same focal length for a ridiculously low price (a little wider than its Nikon lens, actually). ). When we first got it I couldn't wait to try it. So we opened the box, saw the leather case it was in, took it out and screwed it onto the Canon. When I turned on the LCD viewfinder, I almost couldn't believe it! It's not exactly 180 degrees. But if you stand in the doorway of a small bedroom, for example, you will see absolutely all parts of the room in your lens. Wonderful! It also captures a lot more 'floor to ceiling', so objects expand both horizontally and vertically. Too bad we didn't buy it before last Saturday's photo shoot, as I think the photos we took would have been much better (although they were already good!). I'm almost contemplating returning to the area as a favor to my client and re-letting the house. Larger angles are very suitable for real estate photography. We gave all the images a much more professional look. There is definitely vignetting at the widest angle (corners turn black). However, this happens with almost ALL wide-angle lenses (especially fisheye lenses). I just pushed the widest setting back a bit and the black corners are gone. However, you need software to correct lens distortion when objects curve around the edges (in other words, the left and right walls curve when you're shooting a room). GIMP does a pretty good job with its lens distortion filter, and its software is free. Overall, I'm very happy with this lens! Haven't used a macro lens yet as it was mainly bought for a wider angle. But I'm pretty sure a macro would be great too! The lens feels very high quality (heavy and doesn't feel cheap at all). It screws onto the camera with ease (but like filters, the threads are VERY thin so you need to make sure you put it on properly before tightening. You don't want to strip the threads off.) Perfect and smooth. Oh, one more thing I noticed. If you use the camera's built-in flash (which is facing forward), you'll get a small semi-circular shadow at the bottom of the photo. This is because adding a lens to a standard kit lens adds a few inches to the length. The flash is slightly blocked at the bottom of the photo, but the same thing happens with the telephoto lens. Everything again
