I bought these baskets to store extra cords and all sorts of stuff from my desk. I use the largest basket to hold my current crochet project. I chose them because they are lockable and don't have holes for handles. I have three vicious cats and they love to put their paws where they don't belong. These baskets look good enough for the job I gave them, but they're pretty flimsy. They will not hold heavy objects or withstand abuse over time. The elastic that keeps the cup closed is just the cheap flimsy elastic you see on a hair tie. I don't think they cost close to $40. I'd rather save money on baskets, but I needed something pretty that closed completely in a snap.
