I homeschool 4 kids and ALWAYS go back and forth between them to fix, check or explain. I have this to be able to move between them all and protect my back from all that leaning over computer desks, lego tables and floors that I make. We don't have student desks. Children can read or take lessons where it is most convenient for them and where they can do their work to the best of their ability. and often this is where that old body doesn't want to be. This stool allows me to be lower and closer to them but still feel comfortable. It turns very easily and smoothly. It's pretty thick and tight, but I like it. This means it will not wear out quickly. I love that it's washable too - because .kids. Great chair - almost the same as our pediatrician's office. I believe this would be fine for more commercial use.
