The only concern I had with this wine glass coaster was the loose screws that some buyers mentioned. But either they improved them or I used them so they hold up well. I used anchors as the bottom of my cabinets isn't thick enough to hold the screws. For me, that definitely meant drilling a pilot hole, then enlarging it with a second drill bit, and then using a third and larger drill bit to install the anchor. I agree - I've waited decades to show off my beautiful black crystal glasses. I pushed the first screw all the way in to make sure I got it right, then hung a stand on that single screw and held it while I used the dot to mark the remaining holes. I also measured to make sure I was getting them in the right place. The rack is mounted so that its screw holes protrude slightly from the surface. Gluing to hold it in place while labeling didn't work for me - my cabinets have a smooth finish on the bottom. After the first dowel was in place, I screwed the post into place at one corner. It held up strong and I was able to drill pilot holes through the rack screw holes with marks I made to make sure I measured correctly. Sounds like a lot of work but I had this picture maybe my black crystal goblet collapsed otherwise. It was quick from there and my counter was decorated with an elegantly dangling crystal. To finish all that, I'm looking forward to a trip to the lid hardware on the inside of the cabinet base for each screw and dowel arrangement (either smaller doorstops or maybe a length of threaded bushing). I don't really think it will hold up if I "skin" the ends of them, but I also don't want to punch a hole in the bottom of my salt box or spill corn syrup. I would send a photo, but it's very similar to what's out there, just - did I mention it? - My glasses are black. I also have dark oak cabinets, plus they have a bottom edge. So the only thing you see are wine glasses that are on display there. The functionality of a metal is more about the assurance that it will hold up than it is about intruding on the aesthetics of the whole. The price is great. does what it says I measured three times and pricked once, on my father's advice. Worked great.
