Metal bent after 4 uses and cans won't crush properly anymore

The product seemed great for the first few uses but by the 4th batch of cans I noticed that the metal on the top snap clip was beginning to bend. I have no idea how such steel could bend, but it did. Now the cans just get crushed in half and wedged at the bottom where you have to get out any screwdriver or pliers. Look elsewhere

Pros

Easy to use: Comfortable handle (comes with nuts for easy repair if needed) - simply pull the handle down while the steel plate crushes the cans/bottles.
