Review on Chlorine Filtration Connect Drinking Capacity by Travis Kjar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great system BUT WARNING

This is a good system but I ordered this to replace another identical system with a different name. I've decided to stick with the same system as I have a bunch of filters waiting to be used and I can't get them back. I didn't want to waste my previously purchased filters. The reason I had to replace the original (identical - even the tag is identical, the color, everything but the actual manufacturer's name) is because we could NOT unscrew the top from the base to replace our filter. There was absolutely no way to do this. We've tried a pipe wrench, large pliers, etc. We tried it with a wd 40 liquid wrench. The threads seemed to grow together. I tapped lightly. I put a small precision screwdriver in the hole and tried to wedge it out. Nothing. We couldn't remove the screwed plastic cover from the base. There was a chance that the calcium and other deposits were eating away at the inside of the threads and actually fusing them together. Can't say as we had to throw the unit away as we couldn't replace the filter. However, we chose to take it apart before use and pre-lube the threads (we used food-grade olive oil) before using it under the sink. Hopefully if we change the filter in three months (or longer if we forget) we can now open it LARGER to change the filter if needed. So I really recommend making sure you can unscrew it before using it. , then lightly apply a little olive or vegetable oil to the threads to ensure you can open them further if needed in the future. Stainless steel hoses and a hook to lift the unit off the ground.

Cons
